Relation Between Resource Acquisition and Effective Resource Use

Although the organizational effectiveness literature hasfocused on resource acquisition as well as effective resource use, there have been few attempts to study the relationship between these two measures. An understanding of this is particularly critical for not-for- profit organizations because there is some doubt as to whether the strong input-output the suggested by open systems theorists applies. This study examines the relationship among a group of locally monitored human service agencies.
